Katie + Alex, Part 1 – Amelia Island Wedding Photography

My first interaction with Katie was through email. They were looking for a wedding photographer for a small park wedding, but she wanted to call me to explain the circumstances. The story was she was having trouble getting into England to be with Alex and so even though they had a wedding planned for August, they were going to have a formal ceremony and get legally married in February so they could expedite the visa process. What I heard in Katie’s voice was sheer excitement. This is not a story of elaborate weddings, but rather elaborate love. The kind of love that makes you say “screw it, I want to be with you now.” The kind of love that knows wedding ceremonies are beautiful, but what’s more beautiful is snuggling up on the couch with your “person.” Katie & Alex’s August ceremony is ready to blog, but I feel like it’s only fair to give their February wedding it’s 15 minutes of fame.
